Work Permits

There are different categories of work permits to allow for employment in Canada. Depending on your situation, Global Direct Canada Immigration Services will prepare the required documents to give you access to that dream job. Some individuals may require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) before a work permit can be issued to them.

Depending on your profession or nature of the job, you may need a work permit as authorization to start working in Canada. Also, certain categories of workers will need an approved Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) before a work permit can be issued to them.

Basic eligibility criteria for a work permit:

Must prove to an officer that you will leave Canada when your work permit expires,
Prove that you enough money to take care of yourself and your family members during your stay in Canada and to return home,
Must obey the law and have no criminal activity record or be a danger to Canada’s security (you may be asked to give a police clearance certificate),
Must be in good health and have a medical exam, if needed,
Must not plan to work for an employer who, on a regular basis, offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages,
Must not plan to work for an employer that is listed with the status “ineligible”, and
Must give the immigration officer any other documents that they ask for to prove you can enter the country.
